\nRN - Med Surg Tele
\n\nJob Details:
\n• Work 12-hour day shifts from 6:30 AM to 7:00 PM
\n• 36 guaranteed hours per week with 13-week contract length
\n• Weekend block option available
\n• Three weekends required out of every six-week schedule
\n• Every other holiday rotation required
\n• Float requirement: First to float within skillset to Deaconess Newburgh (8 miles) and potentially to Deaconess Henderson, KY (11 miles)
\n• 2-hour notice given for cross-campus floating
\n• Care for cardiac patients post-procedure (cath/stents/interventions, pacers), arrhythmias, heart failure, STEMI/NSTEMI
\n• Provide neurological care for CVA and seizure patients
\n• Handle detox/CIWA, sepsis, DKA, and respiratory distress cases
\n• Patient ratio: 1:5-6 on days
\n• Unit features 19 beds (8 designated step-down, 11 med surg tele)
\n• Required certifications: Current active compact nursing license, AHA BLS, AHA ACLS, and NIHSS
\n• Minimum 2 years cardiac/neuro med surg tele experience plus 1 travel contract OR 5 years cardiac/neuro med surg tele experience
\n• Recent EPIC charting experience required
\n• Must pass telemetry tests and demonstrate 12-lead EKG interpretation skills
\n• Skillset requirements: Post heart cath care, heparin initiation/titration, NIHSS/dysphagia screening, sepsis care, chest tube management, CPAP/Optiflow, IV insertion
\n• Navy blue scrubs required with no competing health system or agency logos
\n• Teaching hospital environment may require precepting students and new hires
\n• No local candidates accepted (40-mile radius rule)
\n• Bi-weekly orientation starting 12/1
