\nRegistered Nurse - PCU
\n\nJob Details:
\n• Work 3x12 hour night shifts from 6:45 PM to 7:15 AM (4x12s available upon request)
\n• Up to 52 weeks available by request
\n• Weekend requirement: Either every other weekend or 6 weekend shifts in a 6-week scheduling block
\n• Must work one holiday per 13-week contract
\n• Open Heart/Thoracic PCU position requiring post heart surgery experience
\n• Patient ratios: 1:4-5 (goal ratio is 4:1, but consistently work at 5:1 ratio)
\n• EPIC charting experience required
\n• Required certifications: ACLS, BLS, NIHSS
\n• Floating required within skillset to other PCU or medical-surgical level units
\n• Must have experience with cardiac monitoring, dysrhythmia interpretation and management
\n• Skills include IV therapy, phlebotomy, blood product administration, central/peripheral line care
\n• Administer cardiac drips (Cardizem, Heparin, Insulin, low-dose dopamine/dobutamine, Amiodarone, Nitro, Bumex, Lasix - no titration)
\n• Provide respiratory support including nasal cannula, oxygen delivery, non-invasive airway management
\n• Work with chest tubes, trachs, PICC lines, LVAD's, and various oxygen modes including CPAP and BiPAP
\n• Remote telemetry with monitors on unit
\n• May work without CNA support
\n• Facility can call off 1 shift per 2-week period
\n• Minimum 1 year experience required
\n• First-time travelers accepted depending on experience (prefer 250+ bed hospital experience)

\nThis is a 703-bed acute care teaching hospital and flagship medical facility serving as the region's only Level I Trauma Center. The organization is Magnet-designated for nursing excellence and affiliated with a medical school. The hospital features advanced specialty care, a dedicated children's hospital, and is certified as an Advanced Thrombectomy Capable Stroke Center. The Open Heart/Thoracic PCU serves as a stepdown unit from the ICU, with trauma residents and mid-level providers in-house and most patients specific to the cardiac surgical population.
