REGISTERED NURSE - PSYCH/BEHAVIORAL HEALTH 

• Shift: 3:00 PM-11:30 PM | EVENING
• Description: Registered Nurse responsible and accountable to perform the nursing process as a basis for patient care
• Provides direction and oversight to other licensed and non-licensed staff
• Demonstrates compassion, integrity, stewardship, empowerment, promotion of diversity, and professional excellence

• Shows excellent customer service and enthusiasm for the program and Pine Rest organization

   

• Principal Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Assesses person’s served care needs, develops plan of care with interdisciplinary team, continually reassesses care plan
  • Provides/coordinated nursing care in collaboration with physicians
  • Assists in teaching persons served and families; provides milieu management
  • Communicates and educates persons served/families/significant others in discharge/after care planning
  • Provides a safe and secure environment for persons served and staff
  • Documents, reports, and verifies necessary information per policies and procedures
  • Monitors and reports potential safety risks to physicians
  • Creates a customer/client friendly environment following quality improvement standards
  • Provides care in various clinical settings with diverse populations
  • Identifies specific needs and implements person-centered, compassionate care
  • Functions as a clinical leader, delegating/coordinating staff assignments and promoting staff development
  • Reviews patient care protocols, standards of practice, and standards of care; provides input for improvement
  • Utilizes and promotes careful use of resources
  • May train direct care staff
  • May indirectly oversee medication and physical health activities
  • May be responsible for scheduling, staffing, and obtaining pre-authorizations
  • Role models mission and values of the organization, demonstrating professionalism in appearance, attitude, behavior, time management, and communication
  • Provides spiritual, emotional, social, mental, and physical support to patients
  • Supports recovery-focused environment and person-centered approach in community residential settings
  • Upholds healing ministry of Christ through integrity, stewardship, empowerment, diversity, equity, inclusion, and professional excellence
  • Maintains annual training and demonstrates competency in required programmatic training
  • Performs other duties/functions as assigned
• Supervisory Responsibilities: May function as a charge nurse

 

• Submission requirements: 2 years behavioral health experience required
• Hours: 40 per week with potential to pick up additional shifts up to 48 hours (not guaranteed)
• Weekend Description: Every other weekend
• Certifications: BLS
• State Licenses: Michigan
• Guaranteed Hours: 40
• 13 WEEKS OF CONTRACT

 

Facility Description: 

• Pine Rest offers 198 inpatient beds across nine age-specific units for children, adolescents, young adults, adults, and older adults
  • Dedicated unit for adults with dual diagnosis of substance use and mental health disorder
  • Services managed by board-certified psychiatrists and multi-disciplinary team

  • Provides professional assessment, crisis stabilization, medication management, and individualized transition planning
