We are headquartered in Virginia Beach, VA. We are seeking a Senior Electrical / Electronic Engineer to support our Navy customer in San Diego, CA.

Position/Job Description:

General Tasking Description:
    \n
  • Conduct concept Studies and Feasibility Studies: Conduct analysis and contribute to concept and feasibility studies related to electrical systems for ships, boats, and craft.
  • \n
  • Design and Construction Activities: Collaborate in contract design activities, detail design, and construction activities, ensuring efficient and effective electrical system integration.
  • \n
  • In-Service Ship Design: Participate in in-service ship design and engineering activities, providing expertise in electrical systems for maintenance and upgrades.
  • \n
  • Shipboard Installation Support: Offer support for shipboard electrical system installations, ensuring compliance with safety standards and performance requirements.
  • \n
  • Special Studies: Engage in special studies that address specific electrical system challenges and opportunities in shipbuilding.
  • \n
  • The employee shall facilitate and provide the required technical information expertise to Integrated Process Teams (IPTs), special advisory boards, off-sites, working groups and audit teams.
  • \n
  • The employee shall perform research and work along with USCG, ABS, and other key stakeholders, such as the Military Sealift Command (MSC).
  • \n

Additional Duties:
    \n
  • \n Power Distribution Systems: Design and analyze power distribution systems for ships, considering safety, redundancy, and operational efficiency.
  • \n
  • \n Electrical System Integration: Collaborate with other engineering disciplines to ensure seamless integration of electrical systems with other ship systems.
  • \n
  • \n Electrical Safety Compliance: Ensure adherence to electrical safety regulations and standards throughout the shipbuilding process.
  • \n
  • \n Shipboard Testing: Support shipboard testing of electrical systems, verifying performance and functionality.
  • \n
  • \n Electrical System Optimization: Implement strategies to optimize electrical system performance, energy efficiency, and reliability.
  • \n
  • \n Leadership and Mentorship : Provide mentorship and technical guidance to junior electrical engineers in the shipbuilding team.
  • \n
  • In-service ship design and engineering activities; shipboard installation support; and special studies related to ships/boats/craft, ship systems and/or shipboard equipment.

Experience Requirements:
  • 15 years of providing electrical / electronic support to the US Navy. AND a Masters
\n
OR
  • 20 years of providing electrical / electronic support to the US Navy. AND a Bachelors.
\n
Educational & Certification Requirements:
  • A bachelor's OR master's degree in computer, Electrical, or Electronics Engineering with the applicable years of experience.
