Job Description

Allied Universal® is hiring a Regional Trainer in Honolulu, Hawaii. The Regional Trainer will teach Allied Universal employees at all levels, upskilling employees to develop a safety, service, and growth mindset. Training course development, delivery and compliance-tracking will be conducted in accordance with all federal, state or province, and local laws and regulations, while also adhering to Allied Universal standards and values. We are looking for candidates who have at least a year of security, law enforcement, or military experience and have a passion for teaching and training. Allied Universal will pay for all certifications needed! 

 

Salary Range: $50,000-$60,000 + Auto Allowance/Fuel Card + 10% Annual Bonus Eligibility

Expected Travel is less than 20% and may include travel outside islands when necessary, and the other 80% is spent training at the branch office during business hours, Monday through Friday plus off eight major holidays!

This is an entry level position in the Training and Development department.

 

RESPONSIBILITIES:

Training Design & Delivery
  • Develop and deliver training content for internal staff and client-specific needs.
  • Facilitate programs in compliance with Allied Universal standards and all applicable laws and regulations.
  • Report to the branch office in Honolulu on a regular basis and travel to client sites when needed (within Hawaiian Islands)
  • Provide specialty training in CPR/First Aid/AED, defensive tactics, MOAB, CPI, OCAT, PPBT, PATH, mobility devices, and field training.
Program Implementation & Compliance
  • Partner with HR and branch leadership to implement contract- and regulation-compliant training programs.
  • Oversee Training Academy performance across regions, promoting continuous improvement.
  • Ensure training compliance for armed officers, mobile patrol, and use of force requirements.
Reporting & Communication
  • Participate in WFM and operations meetings; present training metrics using DOMO.
  • Distribute weekly reports on training completions and upcoming virtual instructor-led sessions.
  • Maintain clear communication with internal teams and clients.
External Partnerships & Special Projects
  • Build relationships with local training academies as needed.
  • Deliver contracted services (e.g., fire safety, workplace violence training).
  • Support regional projects and initiatives as assigned

QUALIFICATIONS (MUST HAVE):

  • Must have at least 1 year experience in security, law enforcement or the military and have experience as a trainer or instructor
  • High School Diploma or equivalent 
  • Ability to obtain and maintain all necessary state or federal licensing requirements
  • Must be physically able to demonstrate and take part in all physical skill classes along with students for "Hands-on" training (i.e. handcuffing, physical restraining, etc.)
  • Current driver's license if driving a company vehicle, or personal vehicle in the course of conducting business (e.g., client visits, attending networking events)
  • Excellent customer-service skills, with the ability to interact with all levels of individuals professionally in a courteous and professional manner
  • Demonstrated ability to take initiative, successfully handle and prioritize multiple competing assignments and effectively manage deadlines
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills; ability to write manuals, review and respond to written requests for proposals, training documents, and prepare extensive presentations
  • Highly proficient and fully functional in Microsoft programs such as Word and PowerPoint
  • Professional, articulate, and able to use good independent judgment and discretion
  • Willingness and ability to travel as well as work extended hours to meet business objectives
  • Must be able to focus and multi-task in busy environment, with the ability to successfully handle stressful situations in a calm and professional manner

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • College degree in Education, Business Administration, Criminal Justice, or other private security or law enforcement related field
  • Classroom instructor experience
  • Prior experience in teaching in the fire service, security industry, law enforcement and/or military

COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS:

  • Base salary, bonus opportunity
