Description About the Role: We are seeking a Senior Platform Engineer to design, build, and optimize cloud infrastructure solutions on Microsoft Azure. You will ensure scalability, security, and cost-efficiency while collaborating with cross-functional teams to implement cutting-edge cloud solutions. Location: Washington, DC (Onsite - No telework allowed) Contract Details: + Start Date: January 5, 2026 + Duration: 6 months (with possibility of extension) + Benefits (Health, Vision, Dental, 401(k)) + Clearance: Public Trust required (must currently have Public Trust) Key Responsibilities: + Design and implement secure, scalable Azure-based platform solutions (VMs, AKS, App Services, Storage). + Architect solutions for high availability, disaster recovery, and performance optimization. + Manage and maintain cloud infrastructure and automation using IaC tools (Terraform, ARM templates, Azure DevOps). + Implement security best practices and monitor vulnerabilities using Azure Security Center. + Build and maintain CI/CD pipelines for cloud deployments. + Automate infrastructure provisioning and scaling. + Monitor cloud resource health and optimize performance/costs. + Troubleshoot and resolve cloud-related issues. + Document architectures, configurations, and processes. Requirements Required Qualifications: + Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, IT, Engineering, or equivalent experience. + 7+ years in cloud infrastructure/platform engineering, with 3+ years in Microsoft Azure. + Expertise in Azure services (Compute, Networking, Storage, Identity, Security). + Strong experience with IaC tools (Terraform, ARM templates, Azure DevOps). + Hands-on experience with AKS, Docker, and container orchestration. + Proficiency in scripting (PowerShell, Bash, Python). + Knowledge of DevOps principles and CI/CD tools (Azure DevOps, Jenkins, GitLab). + Strong understanding of cloud security best practices. + Ability to lead technical initiatives and mentor junior engineers. Preferred Skills: + Microsoft Azure certifications (Solutions Architect Expert, Administrator Associate). + Experience with multi-cloud environments (AWS, GCP). + Familiarity with serverless architectures (Azure Functions). + Knowledge of container security and DevSecOps.
